Terms of Service

1. Agreement

By creating an account or using Vestrybooks, you agree to these terms on behalf of your church or organization. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

2. The service

Vestrybooks is software that helps churches keep their books, produce year-end giving statements, reconcile against the bank, and accept online gifts. We may add, change, or remove features over time.

3. Your account

Keep your login details safe and your information accurate. You're responsible for what happens under your account and for the people you invite to it. Tell us promptly if you think an account has been compromised.

4. Your data is yours

You own the data you put into Vestrybooks. You grant us permission to store and process it only to provide the service to you. You can export or delete it at any time (see our Privacy Policy). You're responsible for the donor information you enter and for handling it lawfully.

5. Online giving

Online gifts are processed by Stripe and are subject to Stripe's terms. Gifts go directly to your connected account — we take no platform cut; you pay only Stripe's standard processing fees. You're responsible for your own tax and reporting obligations (including issuing accurate contribution statements to your donors).

6. Acceptable use

Don't use Vestrybooks for anything unlawful, abusive, or that interferes with the service or other churches. We may suspend accounts that do.

7. Plans & payment

Some plans are free and some are paid. When you subscribe to a paid plan, the price and billing terms shown at signup apply. We'll always be transparent about pricing — and we never take a percentage of your giving.

8. Not professional advice

Vestrybooks is a tool, not a substitute for professional advice. It does not provide accounting, tax, or legal advice. For decisions that matter, consult a qualified accountant or advisor. The service is provided “as is”; while we work hard to keep it accurate and available, we can't guarantee it will be error-free or uninterrupted.

9. Liability

To the extent the law allows, Vestrybooks isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits anything that can't be limited by law.

10. Ending the agreement

You can stop using Vestrybooks anytime and export or delete your data. We may suspend or end access if these terms are broken. If we ever discontinue the service, we'll give you reasonable notice and a way to export your data.

11. Changes

We may update these terms as the product grows; we'll update the date above and let you know about meaningful changes. Continuing to use Vestrybooks means you accept the update.
